I'm in a bit of a quandary; your place or mine?

I'm in a bit of a quandary.
I feel I'm still very new to blogging and would dislike to naively show no etiquette with my posts.
I've learnt how to attribute images to their source (Yee Ha!) and create links to refer interested readers to further information. (I thought I was a bloody legend when I worked that out!)
But, my problem now is with comments.

Do I reply to your generous feedback (I so appreciate your time!) on my own blog? (This is what I have been doing; mostly because the 'chain' of the discussion makes more sense)
OR
Do I pop over to your blog to reply to you? (And then I know you're going to get my reply and not vainly presume you'll check back to see?)

I love it when I see a box that I can mark to receive e-mailed further replies on a comment chain but I don't offer this as I don't know how to do it. (Do you? Please share!)

What's your opinion / What do you do?

Thank you for stopping by my blog. You are very welcome and encouraged to comment; I love receiving feedback! It helps me get to know you too!

  1. I still don't know what the best way is either. Sometimes I send a direct email, sometimes I reply back on my blog, sometimes I leave a comment on their blog if they have one. I personally don't mind if my comments aren't acknowledged all the time but I try to make more of an effort if someone is new to my blog. Maybe I'm too cruisy about it??! xx

  4. Hey Brismod, thxs for your comment.I'm with you with the cruisy thang. Just was wondering if I was on the same page as everyone else! Not sure what's happening to my friend B but I hope it's not a fault my end. I question the auto subscribe to further comments is a default thing though B as I only see it on some blogs. (Fewer than many). Do I offer it? LOL! I wouldn't know since I don't subscribe to me! You're the IT specialist.... HELP! I want to have this feature!!!!

  5. I don't know the answer to this either. If someone has left a comment asking a question or for advice and they have a linked email address then I generally email them directly and start a conversation that way. But if they are anonymous and I have no way of contacting them, then I write the answer in comments on my blog, or comment on theirs if they have one. If it's a general response to all comments, then I do it on my own blog. Not sure if I'm doing the right thing, but that's how I roll at this point.

I've recently had some problems with not receiving comments. I have removed word verification to try to rectify this issue. If your much appreciated comment doesn't appear please let me know via email so I can try something else! All comments and feedback are warmly welcomed! x KL
